I know because not only have I handled hundreds of cases, but more significantly, I’ve been through it. And if you’re like me, it may be one of the worst things you will ever go through. You are trying to keep “it” together. What is “it”? “It” is life. It’s your relationships with your children, your family, your friends. It’s the stability in your daily routines, your finances and at the end of the day, “it” is your sanity.
The goal, in any case, should be to make the process as easy as possible for the client. Ideally, every case would resolve quickly without conflict, however, this is not always realistic. Knowing when to litigate and when to compromise is a skillset of its own. Taking a settlement minded approach serves to save time and money! While I actually enjoy trial, I am not looking to promote it at my clients’ expense. However, sometimes trial is the most efficient way to resolve a dispute. Each case is unique as are the people involved. Depending on the issues, the personalities of the parties, and even the judge, each matter requires a different approach and one that’s tailored to meet the specific needs of the client. This philosophy represents the basis for my practice.
